A Call to Rise: Awakening from Complacency

A Call to Rise: Awakening from Complacency

Isaiah 60:1 (NASB) “Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.

As we step into a new season, God is issuing a clear and powerful call to His people: Arise! This is not merely an invitation to exist, but a command to awaken, to move, and to respond. Our ministry theme for 2026 “Elevation not Stagnation” captures that divine mandate. God is calling us higher, but elevation will always require participation.

Stagnation often disguises itself as comfort. It feels safe, familiar, and predictable, yet comfort can quietly lead to complacency. Complacency can be defined as a state of self-satisfaction that dulls spiritual sensitivity.  When a believer becomes complacent, growth is stifled and responsiveness to God’s voice diminishes. We may still be present, but we are no longer progressing.

Iasiah call to “arise” suggest that God’s glory is already present. The light has come, and the provision is available. Heaven has already moved; but the responsibility to respond rests with us. Elevation does not begin with God doing more; it begins with us standing up in faith and expectation.

Movement is required in this season. Not just for the sake of moving; but obedient movement. Step by step and guided by God’s direction. Obedience activates elevation. Faith in motion breaks stagnation. Though stagnation may feel comfortable, it will keep us from the higher levels God has prepared. This is the moment to awaken from complacency, to rise with intention, and to shine with purpose. God’s glory has risen upon you; and now it is time to respond.
