A Call to Rise: Awakening from Complacency

Isaiah 60:1 (NASB) “Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. As we step into a new season, God is issuing a clear and powerful call to His people: Arise! This is not merely an invitation to exist, but a command to awaken, to move, and to respond. Our ministry theme for 2026 “Elevation not Stagnation” captures that divine mandate. God is calling us higher, but elevation will always require participation. Stagnation often disguises itself as comfort. It feels safe, familiar, and predictable, yet comfort can quietly lead to complacency. Complacency can be defined as a state of self-satisfaction that dulls spiritual sensitivity.  When a believer becomes complacent, growth is stifled […]

The Blessing of Giving

As we step out of the season of Thanksgiving and into the season of giving, it is easy for our focus to shift toward what we hope to receive. However, the true essence of this season is not found in what comes to us, but in what flows from us. Thanksgiving teaches us to recognize God’s goodness; giving teaches us to reflect it. When our hearts are full of gratitude, we become more aware of just how generously God has poured into our lives. Lesson 3: Waiting Before the Harvest  (What God is doing in you is worth the wait) James 5:7-8 (NIV) “Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.” Waiting can be a hard process. Let’s be honest, when we know something good is coming, the wait feels even longer. Recently, I have been on a kick of making things from “scratch”, and I decided to make homemade ice cream. The process was surprisingly simple; but after mixing the few ingredients, I realized I had to […]

Renewal and Preparation: A Heart Ready for Harvest – Lesson 2

Lesson 2: Weeds and Wheat  (Discernment in Growth) Matthew 13:24–30Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away…” In this lesson, we focus on discernment. Specifically, being able to recognize what God is growing in your life versus what God is leading you to pull out of your life. In Matthew 13, Jesus tells the parable of the wheat and the weeds (tares). The wheat represents what is good, fruitful, and planted by God. The weeds, on the other hand, represent what was planted by the enemy. The challenge? The weeds look […]
