Scripture: Romans 4:21 NASB
“and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.”
Lesson Content:
Faith in the midst of trials requires a strong level of faith. Weak faith and little faith are often outweighed by the intensity of the trials we face. However, when operating with a strong level of faith, we are not limited by the trial because our confidence rests in the ONE who is able to perform whatever we need.
The Bible says in Ephesians 3:20 that God is able to do “exceeding” abundantly above all that we ask or think. This means that God’s ability far exceeds anything we can imagine or desire. With strong faith, our confidence is in God and His limitless ability, knowing that He can do more than we could ever ask for or dream of. We refuse to allow circumstances, situations, or conditions to cause us to waver. Instead, we stand firm in the assurance that God’s plans for us are greater than any challenge we face.
When we have unwavering faith, we understand that God is not bound by the limits of our understanding. His power is always at work in our lives, even when we cannot see it. We trust that His timing is perfect, and His solutions are always beyond what we could have imagined. This type of faith is developed over time, through experiencing God’s power, and is sparked by powerful revelations or miracles in our lives. When we see God prove that He is our provider, deliverer, or sustainer, we continue in faith, even in the midst of trials.
As believers who remain in faith in the face of trials, we do so because we anticipate God’s intervention and continue to trust in His Word, even when the situation seems impossible. We know that God’s promises are true and that His Word is powerful enough to change any circumstance. Even when the road ahead is uncertain and the odds seem stacked against us, we hold onto the truth that God is faithful, and He will not fail us.
Our faith is not based on what we see with our eyes but on what we know to be true about God’s character. In the midst of difficulty, we stand firm, knowing that God is working behind the scenes and that His involvement will always come at the right time. This trust in His faithfulness strengthens our resolve and helps us persevere through every trial, knowing that the victory is already secured in Him.
Application:
Reflect on your faith journey and where you currently stand in relation to strong and great faith. Take time to evaluate if your faith is being influenced by your circumstances or if you are grounded in the promises of God. Practice strengthening your faith through consistent prayer, speaking God’s Word over your life, and actively trusting God for the impossible.
Look for opportunities to demonstrate great faith by expecting greater things from God, and anticipate His mighty works.
Start today by making a declaration of faith: choose one area where you need a miracle or breakthrough, and begin to speak to that situation in faith, trusting that God is able to do exceedingly more than you can ask or think.
Closing Prayer:
Father, thank You for revealing the depths of faith through Your Word. We acknowledge that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by Your Word. We ask You to strengthen our faith and help us grow in confidence in Your promises. May we not be moved by circumstances, but continue to trust You completely, as we walk by faith and not by sight. We speak to our mountains today, declaring that they shall move in Jesus’ name. Lord, help us to expect greater things and live by faith in every area of our lives
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge for the Day:
Today, identify a mountain in your life (whether it’s a trial, challenge, or doubt) and speak to it in faith. Just like the woman with the issue of blood, persist in your faith even in the face of opposition. Speak God’s Word over the situation, and trust that His power will move in your life. Don’t be discouraged by the crowd or the voices of doubt. Keep moving forward in faith!
Faith Confession:
I declare today that I have strong and great faith. I choose to trust in God’s Word, regardless of the circumstances I face. I am fully persuaded that God is able to do what He has promised. I will not allow doubt, fear, or unbelief to hinder my faith. I believe that God is working in my life, and I anticipate His greater works. I speak to every mountain in my life and command it to move, knowing that with God, nothing is impossible. I will continue to walk by faith, knowing that God’s promises are yes and amen.
I Confess this by faith
