Created on Purpose, Created for a Purpose

September is a month to remember that God did not create you without purpose. You are His workmanship, intentionally designed, uniquely gifted, and equipped for the assignment He has placed before you.

The Greek word for workmanship is “poiema” which means that you are something intentionally crafted by God. You were thought about and considered before you were formed.

There are seasons when God calls us to step into something greater. Greater faith. Greater responsibility. Greater influence. Greater purpose. The next level may feel unfamiliar, but it is not unprepared territory. God has already gone before you.

You may not have everything figured out, but you have been equipped with what you need for the journey. This month, be encouraged to walk boldly into what God has prepared for you.

God Has Already Prepared the Next Level

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that God has prepared good works in advance for us to do. This means that what God is calling you toward is not something He discovered at the last minute. He has already prepared the way.

Sometimes we become so focused on whether we are ready that we forget who prepared the opportunity. God knows what is ahead of you, and He knows what He has placed inside of you.

You may feel unqualified, inexperienced, or uncertain, but your confidence does not have to come from knowing every detail. Your confidence can come from knowing the One who has already gone before you.

God has already prepared the next level. You just have to walk in it.

Do not allow fear to keep you standing at the door of an opportunity God has prepared for you. Take the step. Trust Him with the process. Walk forward in faith. Listen, every door is not automatic, you may have to still push or pull to open the door.

In this season, you cannot just wait for the door to be opened, you are going to have to do something. The room has been prepared, the door has been unlocked, and you have been equipped. Now, walk through it.

There is a level that requires your participation. There is an opportunity that requires your obedience. There is a door that requires you to move from where you are and step into what God has prepared.

Stop asking God if you are ready and start trusting that He has already equipped you for what He has called you to do. The preparation has been made. The opportunity is before you. Now it is time to walk in it.

Elevation Aligns You With Your Divine Purpose

Elevation is not simply about getting higher. It is about getting closer to the purpose God has designed for your life.

When God elevates you, He may increase your platform, responsibility, influence, or opportunities. But the greatest purpose of elevation is not recognition. It is alignment.

God may be positioning you in places where your gifts can serve others, your testimony can encourage someone, and your obedience can make room for something greater.

Your name is not being put in rooms and before great men simply to make you great. God is positioning you in those rooms so that your life can give glory to Him.

That is where we have to be careful. There is nothing wrong with building a platform, developing your gifts, or establishing a brand. However, if your brand does not include God’s plan, you may need to question your brand design.

What good is a great name if God is not glorified through it?

We have to make sure that the elevation we desire is connected to the purpose God has given us. It is possible to become so focused on being seen that we forget why God allowed us to be seen in the first place.

It is important to remember, the room is not the destination, the purpose is. The platform is not the prize, what you do with them platform is. The elevation is not about making your name bigger, it is about making God’s name bigger through your life.

Do not confuse elevation with perfection. You do not have to have everything together before God can use you. Your journey, your experiences, and even the lessons you learned in difficult seasons can become part of the preparation for your purpose.

Sometimes God will elevate you while He is still developing you. He may give you greater responsibility while He is still working on our character. He may increase your influence while teaching you greater humility.

When He place you in the room you prayed for remember the One who opened the door. When your influence increases remember the one who gave you the gift. When your name is mentioned, remember whose name you ultimately represent.

You are not being elevated to simply go higher, you are being elevated so you can be aligned with God’s purpose for your life.

You Are Equipped for the Obstacles

Every journey has obstacles. Moving forward with God does not mean that challenges will disappear. It means that you will not face them alone or empty-handed.

There will be moments when the road becomes difficult. There may be closed doors, unexpected delays, opposition, disappointment, or moments when you question whether you heard God correctly.

But the obstacle does not mean you are unequipped.

God has already placed gifts, wisdom, strength, faith, experience, and resources within you. He has also surrounded you with people and opportunities that can help you fulfill what He has called you to do.

It is important to remember that God is faithful. When you are tempted, He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, but with the temptation, He will also provide a way out so that we can endure it.

Sometimes we think the way of escape means that God will immediately remove the situation. But sometimes God provides a way through rather than a way around. Your way of escape may be the wisdom to navigate the situation.

It may be strength to endure, a person God sends to help, or the discipline to walk away. God may not remove every obstacle; however, He will equip you with what you need to get through it.

So, when you feel like you cannot handle the moment, remember your strength was never meant to be your only source. There may be moments when what you are facing feels like more than you can bear on your own strength. But that is the moment when you discover that God’s grace is sufficient.

You are going through it because God has equipped you to handle it, and so that you can help someone else go through it. The tears you cried may produce the water to encourage someone else. Your battles provide wisdom to give wisdom to someone else facing the same battle. The season that stretched you may provide the strength you need to help someone else keep going.

Sometimes the obstacle is not there to stop you. It is there to reveal what God has already developed in you. Obstacles are going to be on the journey, but you have been equipped with what you need to overcome.

Do not underestimate what God has placed inside of you simply because the challenge in front of you looks bigger than your current ability. Remember that your ability is not your only resource. God is with you and He is your source.

The blessing is that God reveals what He has entrusted in us as we go through the battle. Do not allow circumstances to convince you that you are incapable. Face it with faith, knowing that the same God who prepared the assignment has equipped you for ever obstacle along the way.

You are equipped. You are not alone. And you will overcome it.

Walk in What God Has Given You

There is a difference between being equipped and being willing to use what you have been given.

You can have a gift and never develop it. You can have an opportunity and never step through the door. You can receive a calling and still allow fear to convince you that someone else is better suited for it.

But Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we were created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared for us.

Your assignment requires your participation.

There is a powerful story in 2 Kings 4 about a widow whose husband had died, leaving her with a debt that she could not pay. Her creditors were coming to take her two sons as payment.

She went to the prophet Elisha for help.

Elisha did not tell her to go back to school, get more training, or pray for more resources. Instead, he asked her a simple question: “What do you have in your house?”

Her response was essentially, “Nothing… except for a little oil.”

That little bit of oil became the starting point of her miracle. Elisha instructed her to go to her neighbors and collect as many empty jars as she could. She was then told to go inside, shut the door, and pour oil into the empty jars, the oil continued to flow.

When she filled the last jar, the oil stopped. She was then instructed to sell the oil, pay the debt and live on what remained. God used what she already had.

This is important because sometimes we spend so much time asking God for something new that we overlook what He has already placed in our hands. You may be saying, “I need more.” But, God may be asking, “What do you have?”

Do not despise what appears small. The widow did not have enough to solve her problem on her own, but she had enough to start. Sometimes your miracle begins when you become obedient with what you already have.

This September, stop waiting until you feel completely ready. Start with what you have. Use what God has given you. Take the next step. You may not have everything you need to the entire journey, but you have enough for the next step.

As you move forward, trust that God will continue to provide wisdom, strength, direction, and whatever else is necessary for the assignment. You do not need to see the entire path to take the next step.

The widow had to pour before she saw the full provision. You have to move before you see the entire outcome. You have to use what you have in your hands before you know what God will do with it.

What you have may look small, but when it is placed in God’s hands, it can become more than enough. Little becomes much when you place it in His hands.

You don’t have to wait until you have more or until everything is perfect to begin. Start with what you have, and trust God with what happens next.

Equipped According to Your Design

There is something powerful about knowing that God did not create you and then have to figure out what to do with you. He created you with purpose in mind.

Before you ever understood your calling, God already knew what He created you to do. Before you recognized your gifts, He had already placed them inside of you. Before you understood the significance of your story, He knew how He could use every chapter of it for His glory.

Ephesians 2:10 says that we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works that He prepared in advance for us to do.

That means your design is connected to your assignment.

There are things about you that may seem ordinary to you because they come naturally. Your ability to encourage people. Your creativity. Your compassion. Your leadership. Your ability to organize. Your ability to communicate. Your wisdom. Your ability to see what others overlook.

What feels natural to you may be part of what God has equipped you to do. Sometimes we spend too much time comparing ourselves to people who were never assigned to be us. You were not equipped to fulfill someone else’s purpose. You were equipped for yours.

Stop looking at someone else’s gifts and questioning what God has placed inside of you. Stop measuring your assignment by someone else’s platform. Stop believing that because someone else does something differently, what God has given you is insignificant.

There is something God placed in you that is necessary for the assignment He has given you. Even your story can be part of your equipment. Where you have been, things you have learned, and moments that may have stretched you. Evey victory, every disappointment; God can use all of it.

What you thought was simply a chapter in your life may become a testimony that helps someone else understand theirs. Nothing is wasted when it is surrendered to God.

You may not understand why God made you the way He did. You may not understand why you have certain gifts, why certain experiences shaped you, or why you had to walk through certain seasons.

But you do not have to understand everything to trust the One who designed you. The God who created you knows exactly what He put inside of you. So stop disqualifying yourself because you do not look like someone else. Stop waiting to become someone different before you believe you can be used by God.

You are already carrying something that your assignment requires. You were created on purpose and designed with purpose. You were equipped according to your design.

This September, embrace the way God made you. Develop what He has given you. Steward your gifts. Learn from your experiences. Allow Him to shape your character and direct your steps.

You are God’s workmanship.

You are equipped.

And what God created you for, He has equipped you to do.

September Declaration

This month, I declare that I am equipped for more.

I will not allow fear, uncertainty, or obstacles to keep me from walking into what God has prepared for me. I trust that God has gone before me and that He has equipped me for every assignment He has given me.

I will walk boldly in my purpose. I will embrace every opportunity for growth. I will remain faithful through every obstacle. I will use the gifts God has placed within me and trust Him to develop me along the way.

I am not unprepared.
I am not forgotten.
I am not without purpose.
I am God’s workmanship, created for His purpose, equipped for the journey, and ready for more.
